Historic hotel right on the Taos Plaza. Beautifully decorated with Southwestern art. The room had very nice touches as well, such as a silver and tile mirror and a hand-painted dresser. R.C. Gorman paintings hung in the rooms and in the lobby areas. We checked in late, collapsed into bed, and checked out early, so didn't have much time there. Many reviews mention the cafe on site, which opens at 7 so is very handy (used to be a Starbucks but is no longer a chain cafe).

This was the perfect location to experience Taos. It wa right on the plaza so was easy to walk to lots of different shops. There weren't as many restaurants within an easy walk and some are only open till mid afternoon, but we found some good ones to eat at. Also, we took the Taos Trolley Tour which was really great and it left from the plaza so that was convenient also. It took us out to the Taos Pueblo. The hotel staff was excellent and always so helpful.

We loved our stay here - we felt so comfortable. The hotel is right in the middle of town, is very clean, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the facilities were all in good shape (bed was comfortable, furniture didn't look worn, etc). The hotel itself is a very attractive historic building with a great look and really has some "soul" to it. I was a bit skeptical to book here based on the reviews but really we were happy with every aspect of this hotel.

Really lovely hotel. The rooms were really clean, super comfortable, and nicely decorated. Great restaurant and coffee shop on site. There's also an ATM in the lobby. There are a few cute little sitting areas in the hotel if you don't feel like sitting in your room. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Perfect location on the Taos Plaza. You can also see the Forbidden Art Collection (by D.H. Lawrence) for free!

Really quaint place for a quick weekend getaway. Really good service and the people were great. The hotel was quiet, easy to navigate and had what we needed. We liked the coffee shop and the gallery on site. I really liked the in-room fireplace. And having parking just behind the hotel made going anywhere or just staying in really convenient.
